A junior at Sylvania Northview, Lily joined clay target sports in middle school on a dare from her older brother โ and never looked back. She now holds a 94% season average in sporting clays and has set her sights on the Ohio State Championship.
"Sporting clays taught me to think fast and stay calm. It's the most fun I've ever had competing."
Jake discovered skeet at a 4-H sportsmen's club when he was 13. Two years later, he's the top-ranked freshman in Texas USACTL skeet, with a high round of 96/100 and a spot on the radar of USA Shooting's junior development staff.
"Skeet is chess with a shotgun. You have to read each station differently. I love the puzzle of it."
Find a USACTL team in your state, get your gear sorted, and start breaking clays. It only takes one season to fall in love with the sport.
We're always looking for the next great story โ athletes who are putting in the work, climbing the ranks, or just starting out with big dreams. It doesn't matter if they're a first-year beginner who can't stop grinning after every practice, or a seasoned competitor chasing a state title. If they love this sport, we want to tell their story.
Send us a quick note with the athlete's name, age, club, discipline, and a line or two about what makes them worth knowing. We'll take it from there.
